About the Event

The 2018 Celebration of Life Luncheon will be the 20th annual luncheon hosted by the Austin Alumnae Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha to benefit
the Seton Breast Care Center and the ZTA Foundation.

The luncheon will be held on September 28th, 2018 at the newly opened Fairmont Hotel in the heart of downtown Austin.

This past luncheon Neiman Marcus  unveiled its 2017 Spring/Summer line at an exclusive fashion show especially tailored for Celebration of Life attendees. What a treat it was for Austin!

Last years Chairs included Honorary Chairs, Cecilia Abbott, Susan Lubin and Lisa Youngblood, at this fabulous fashion event to benefit the Seton Breast Care Center and the ZTA Foundation.

The 2016 Celebration of Life video, produced by Fat Cat Productions, was created to honor Holley Rothell Kitchen, Amber Gillespie and Renee Linke Sendelbach, and all those who fight and have fought metastatic breast cancer.

To illustrate the amazing exposure this event receives, we have highlighted portions of the media coverage from last year’s luncheon HERE.

All funds raised from the 2017 Celebration of Life Luncheon will benefited the Seton Breast Care Center to enable the acquisition of a state-of-the-art ‘Stereotactic’ biopsy system technology upgrade* to enhance and expand care (80%), and the ZTA Foundation to support breast cancer awareness and education nationally (20%).

*The upgraded Stereotactic biopsy system will include 3D Tomosynthesis which allows for better visualization of the area of concern, especially in woman with dense breasts.  It also allows the physician performing the biopsy to more accurately identify and access the area of interest.  The upgraded system will also match the 3D technology on the current mammography unit used for screening and diagnostic studies in the Seton Breast Care Center.

(If the above purpose no longer requires support or is no longer provided by Seton, the Seton Fund Board of Trustees is authorized to re-designate the funds to support a similar purpose)

About the Seton Breast Care Center

Offering comprehensive care for breast health services in one location, the Seton Breast Care Center opened its doors at Seton Medical Center Austin in February 2014. The center combines the latest medical technology with personal attention in a spa-like setting to provide state-of-the-care and caring. Among the imaging services offered is digital 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) which provides a higher quality image with greater detail than traditional digital mammography. The center also offers breast sonography, bone density scans and stereotactic breast biopsies.  In addition, the hospital provides breast 3T MRI services.

For patients who need additional diagnostic services beyond an initial mammogram, and for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, nurse navigation services offer support throughout the patient’s journey. Special features of the Seton Breast Care Center include relaxing spa-like lounges and waiting rooms, private dressing rooms complete with warm and comfy robes, a specialty boutique with unique and practical gifts for patients, survivors and their loved ones, lymphedema therapy, therapeutic massage and related physical therapy, nutrition classes and one-on-one counseling.
